This page describes how to use Google Cloud Education credits. If you have questions, start by reading the FAQ.
Before starting
To get your credit coupon, you should use the invitation link sent by the professor in charge of the course.
Important: To activate your credits, you have to use your UGA email address, that is the address with the domain @etu.univ-grenoble-alpes.fr
Your credit coupon will come in the form of a 16 characters code.
Starting with Google Cloud Platform
To be able to use Google Cloud Platform, you need a Google account. Your UGA email address cannot be used to to access Google Cloud Platform.
To create an account, go to the Google Cloud front page. Then:
- Do not click on
Get started for free
(this would activate a $300 newcomers credit, that is valid only for 90 days) - Select
Sign in
and create a Google account if you don’t already have one.
Using your credits
Activating your credits
When you receive the email with your credit coupon, you also receive the instructions to activate it. Simply follow the provided instructions.
Your credits will appear as a new billing account
on GCP.
Using your credits for your project (Web interface)
To use your credits to allocate resources on GCP, you need to associate the billing account
with your project. By default, you already have one project created for your GCP account. In the graphical interface:
- Go to the billing menu
- Go to
My projects
tab, andchange billing
to associate the Education billing account to your project (if it is not already the case)
From this point, you are ready to use GCP
